This Handsome Georgian Bracket Clock Was Crafted By William Stacey Of London. Encased In Rich Ebonized Wood Highlighted By Brass Mounts, This Timepiece Is Powered By A Verge Escapement Mechanism. The Face Bears The Name Of The Maker And Tells The Time With Both Roman And Arabic Numerals. Within Its Case, The Clock Includes The Rare And Charming Detail Of An Engraved Backplate. A Subsidiary Dial Allows The User To Activate Or Silence The Chimes.
The Clock Once Belonged To The Collection Of Dr. Ralph Lupin, A Prominent Philanthropist And Collector Of The Decorative Arts. He Donated Much Of His Collection To The New Orleans Museum Of Art, Displayed In The Lupin Foundation Center For Decorative Arts Wing Of The Museum. This Clock Represents The Quality Of Dr. Lupin’S Collection.
