Formed In The Likeness Of Corinthian Columns, These Neoclassical Columns Are Named Griotte, Or “Cherry,” For Their Rich Crimson Color. Red Griotte Marble Was The Prized Material In The Construction Of The Residences Of French Royalty In The 18Th Century, And The Highly Desirable Stone Was Used To Create The Fireplace Mantel In Louis Xiv’S Office At Versailles.
