Due To The Intricate And Labor-Intensive Nature Of Advanced Clockmaking, Condliff’S Oeuvre Is Limited — A Mere 70 Of His Skeleton Clocks Are Known To Exist Today.
This Brass Skeleton Clock Belongs To Condliff’S Third Series And Was Retailed By Literalnd, Davies &Amp; Co. Of Liverpool. The Series Represents An Evolution In Design, Incorporating Intricate And Aesthetically Pleasing Features. The Clock Includes A Going Barrel With A Great Wheel That Is Commensurate In Size With The Chapter Ring, A Tastefully Designed Scroll Frame And A Narrow Silvered Chapter Ring. The Base, Adorned With Spherical Feet, Is Consistent With The Design Elements Found In Condliff’S Earlier Series. This Clock Chimes On The Hour And Is Equipped With A Pendulum Featuring A Recoil Escapement.
