This Remarkably Rare Pair Of Fabergé Jeweled And Enameled Cufflinks Display The Outstanding Artistry For Which This Legendary Firm Is Known. Crafted By Fabergé Goldsmith Master August Frederik Hollming Of The St. Petersburg Workshop (1898-1908), Each Cufflink Is Centered By Diamonds Encircled By Swirls Of Rich Orange Guilloché Enamel. Hollming Was One Of Fabergé’S Most Prominent Artisans. His Immense Talents Gave Birth To The Most Opulent Objects, Including Cigarette Cases, Miniature Easter Eggs, And Gem-Set, Enameled Jewels Such As These Cufflinks, Crafted Specifically For The Famed House Of Fabergé. Set In 18K Yellow Gold And Silver.
Such Elegant Fabergé Objects Were Created During The Height Of Russia’S Imperial Court. Only The Finest Precious Materials And Gemstones Were Used In Fabergé’S Creations, And Surviving Pieces, Especially Jewelry, Are Increasingly Scarce. During The Turmoil Of The Russian Revolution, Objects Of Luxury Were Deemed Superfluous, And Most Of The Firm’S Works, Including The Court And Presentation Pieces Created For The Czar, Were Either Destroyed Or Melted Down To Mint Ingots And Rubles. The Remaining Few Examples In Existence Epitomize The Splendor Of Russian Decorative Arts.
